Siena is universally known as the Gothic Capital. Unlike Florence or other medieval cities, during the last 5 centuries Siena had not undergone great expansion and, it is only from the late XX century, that international wealth has been attracted in business. The city uraban plans, and its architecture, remain utterly unchanged from the Middle Ages, and her monuments, largerly, intact.
